Once upon a time...

Steve just told me about tonight's story time. We give Lucas three stories either read from a book or made up. Tonight he wanted made up stories and these were the topics he chose and Steve's stories about them:

A Dinosaur - that was in the jungle eating spaghetti
A Cat - he wanted a drink but couldn't find one so he ran up a lemon tree and ate a lemon.
A Cow Poo - that was angry.

House Creatures

No live ones!
Finally here's a pic of Nanny's butterfly blanket (the extra fleecy one is at Pam's - sorry!). She made this for when Riley was born and stitched her name on one corner, Lucas on another and Riley on another with their birth dates. Lovely touch!

I never have any unique ideas with regards to sewing/craft 'n' stuff - if you need a slogan or an event idea then I'm your [wo]man.. but for moments like this I have to copy or at least be inspired by clever ladies like this one.

I totally agreed with every word and decided to have a go myself. In true Suzi style I tried something too difficult to start off with but I think I managed to pull it off.
And YEEES, I know he's not sitting on anything! I forgot to put a log on first :o/

Musical Buckets

What is it with Lucas and buckets?! He thinks they're rather important to have on one's head.
It made me jump when Lucas put this on Riley's head, better than a plastic bag eh?! -eek
Here he is discovering what a microphone is for. Yes, thanks again for that Steve :o/ I'll be suffering this all week now.

Taking after.... 'someone' in the thumb sucking department :o) aaah!

Already a wobbly sitter upper.

Dribbles so much I have to make fleece back bibs. Teeth are on their way.

Lucas is thoroughly enjoying his new wall stickers (removable) that I put up the other day. Fire trucks, tractors, cement mixers, trains and planes. Plus a reading chair and blankey to snuggle up in for story time.

No TV... aah!

A relaxing Sunday evening.

My brother Alex did this when he was a little baby. It's the sweetest thing! I couldn't help but chuckle and take pics before getting him out. He'd bounced himself out!

He fell asleep when I was sewing right next to him on the machine. The sticker on his tummy is one of those address labels you get with charity junk mail, "Suzi Pennyman" - useful.

Very Happy 10th Anniversary

Here's a quick shot of part of a framed collage in the hallway (one of them!) It's late and all the wedding pics are in the garage all packed away - apart from the ones in glass and are hard to photograph.

A decade isn't really as long at it sounds like. It's been excellent and we're closer than ever, having more fun than ever and looking forward to forever.

The only gift we gave eachother today were 10 kisses. Maybe next week we'll get a babysitter and go out :o) (in between study times)

Coasties

WHAT THE?! Lucas enjoying a berry nudie drink - this made me do a double take. Looks like he's had a fight with a door! :op

Now you guys (Pam and Dave) are official "Coasties".
Here's a pic of their house and the neighbours (by a few streets).

Chris with their new addition (My little Pork Pie in the bouncer)
Nathaniel came and hugged my legs. For a while we figured he was confused and thought I was his mum, but he seemed happy to stay there for a bit :o)

So long, farewell, aufeders..aufieder.. see ya!

Farewell to Pam, Dave, Lauren and Anthony.
This only means I won't see you as often but I'm sure we'll be popping in for a catch up soon.
I compressed these pics and the cake one went all pixelated.

Sorry Maryanne, couldn't resist! :op

Back to Amazement

It's so nice at Amazement we decided to go again. This time my brother and his little lad.

What a cute bunny rabbit!

Priceless! .. but pic-less

Well we've had a lot of "oooh quick get the camera" moments these last couple of weeks, only to realise Steve has taken it to work!
Tonight was another occasion. I found Lucas under the kitchen table with the brown sugar pav (lovely caramelized gewy bits), so I joined him with cream and banana and we had a nice time under there until he decided I needed some dried sage in my face.. and lots of it :o)

Riley is super cute in his little outfits, we're already approaching the next size up as he's such a lovely budda baby - LOVE THAT! He's also re-named the Jolly Jumper as the Happy Hanger (with twitchy leg). He's really into bath time - when we can get a peaceful moment he has a long happy soak and splash. Otherwise it's a quick dip before Lucas clambers in with his toys and tries to put the "hat" on Riley (little mixing bowl).

Also, Lucas' new favourite book:He loves all the loud words and when I do the shrew's little voice.

It's been flippin' freezing here!! (below 20C) so we're all rugged up and cuddling under the doona first thing in the morning. Or fighting eachother for Nanny's butterfly blanket.

It's freezing cold here (20C). It's not even winter yet.
Did it snow by you A&A? I saw it on the news.

My little lamb has turned into a screaching child. He had his immunisations last week and has been clingy and vocal ever since. Poor little thing's all hoarse so all I hear is a raspy squeak :o(
Off to take care of the little muffin now.

rainy day doings

Sorry about the blurry pics.. this a 3 day old duckling.

Truely excited... I was anyway. Lucas had fun pushing over the pretend boulders that were in the enclosure :o/My two little monkeys under the blankly that Nanni made.

Happy Easter!

We hope you all have a great time this Easter. Take time to reflect.

Lucas got bored of painting so I did the writing while he did the footprints - that was fun :o) We painted eggs too which he loved.. got an obsession with eggs. Gotta be that satisfying scrunch of the shell.

Day to day doings

Okay, so there are very few pics of me on here.. mainly because I'm in that day to day "mum slump" and don't often look camera worthy.

Here's me and my little ones, laughing, crying and eating
Don't they look like they're doing Wallace impressions with the hands? "Cheeese Gromit"

Quiet time. Love it when they cling on with their fists clenched.

Ginny's recipe for date and walnut loaf in a tin. It's soooo delish! I ran out of walnuts so these have pecans. I've had to tackled Lucas a few times today as I find him sneaking out of the kitchen with a whole one.

Time Flies.. so does Valdi

Our friend Valdemar is Portuguese and has the itchiest feet of anyone I know. He's always loved traveling and that's why being an air steward on long haul flights is the perfect job for him!

We were lucky enough to catch up with him on his two night stay in Sydney. Hopefully we can see him again soon and dash down to the national park for some wildlife watching :o)

We haven't seen Valdemar since we left England in 2001! CRAZY how time flies... scuse the punn :o)

Wise little womble

Already beyond his years, this little baby knows when to sleep...
tell Daddy when "that's enough"
and do a really good impression of Ob1 (sp?)

End of March

Thought I'd pop a few pics from last month that we haven't put in their own little post.
Our little sports star has a thing for toothpaste.

Riley's first go in the "jumpy jump". He's doing very well swaying around on his tippy toes but I'm not sure he's figured out what his knees do yet. Lucas took a few days, so we'll see how we go :o)Me and my blue eyed boy (at least I hope they stay blue)
I'm very pleased that finally we get to have some capsicums instead of the fruit fly wrecking them all! I ripped out the tomato plants that had done their thing and we still had a good crop of greens for chutney or tangy lasagna sauce. The beans were for soup at lunch.

I took down the beans too to make room for something else and Lucas sat there munching and pulling apart ALL of the remaining beans and eating the lot!

He won't eat many cooked veggies for dinner but doesn't think twice about ripping handfuls of silverbeet, beans, capsicum, parsley etc from the garden and eating it all raw.
Ah! proud mum :o)
