Baby Bump Update

Ok as requested here are some pics of the bump. The first one was two weeks ago, then I POPPED.
I'm 28 weeks now and getting to that tired uncomfortable stage that I managed to avoid for quite a long time with Lucas. I really wish this little nut would move around as it's feet are constantly kicking down.
Had the glucose test and all is fine. Need to eat a tad more red meat (Steve says "yay!"). I'll have to defrost that leg of lamb :o)

Actually the pics don't look that different.. but the comments and comfort levels have certainly changed :o)

Spring Peas

This one little bush has given us so many peas!! You can see where it gets most sun as it's stunted one side. I planted these a few months ago but because of the cold they were slow growing (which is fine :o)

Lucas LOVES eating peas off the vine. He's also been very helpful this morning putting the celery seedlings in. He only trod on one but that was a bit of over excitement at the puddle made from watering them in :o)
Ears free of whisps. This is after his first hair cut. Still not completed but it's a start.
Here is the potato patch (dug out by Patrick Boyle) companion planted with some nasturtium that look flat as I've just transplanted it from the other side of the garden.
Celery seedlings are above that, then Lucas heading for more muddy fun.
Our strawberry patch is looking extremely promising this year and we're really excited!
The sage is flowering (companion plant) and all the onion weed cut out in an attempt to stunt it's growth.

Life of Lucas in the Garden.

There is so much to do in the garden. Here is just s snippet of what Lucas gets up to.

Chillin' out.

Trying to hit Daddy with a stick.

Daddy running away from Lucas so as not to be hit with stick.....again.

Helicopter......"Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

Digging dirt.

On the road.

All exams passed and now on the road for day and night shifts. Have already had some interesting experiences and have worked along side the police and fire services in a variety of events. Very much enjoying the experience and very lucky to get a great paramedic training officer. His name is Andrew and he is a great on road teacher. All in all going really well and now resting up with my four days off. Time to mow the lawn and recover from a grueling 8 weeks intensive training and studying.

The photos below are Lucas and I having fun in the garden just before I go to work.

Garden helpings

Last week Lucas was very helpful in the garden. He put soil and seeds into egg trays (eggplant) which I doubt will grow.
We also put basil, chocolate capsicum and Cinderella pumpkins in another tray with proper seed raising mix and a humidifying cover, so fingers crossed.
Here he is helping me clean out the olive brine out of the tubs that arrived. It was easier and more fun than I thought - especially with the mop to clean the bottoms.
Here's the bulk of water tubs awaiting collection (and waiting and waiting) in the drive way. We've had quite alot of rain so it's been funny to see people take them down and get sloshed on the head with olive/rain water :o)

I'm glad it's just an annual order.

Wanderings

The other weekend (can't remember how many ago) we went off to Fagan park again.
I love it as there's lots of room to roam and run. I was very happy to have Steve with us this time so I could happily lag behind carrying the lunch.

What's Wernicke's Encepalopathy Anyway?

It's interesting (but odd) to have my brain full of random information that I've picked up while Daddy's been studying. Oxygenation rates, contraindications of glucose administration... not to mention the myriad of acronyms and memory journeys cooked up to remember it all.
I stand at the sink sometimes and things like, "MADCUP, Sick Cats Vomit On Dogs, Have SPAM, More SPAM and AV a POO" swim around my mind randomly. I'm glad it's not me having to remember all the protocols, clinical and technical info.

How he does it I don't know.. but he does it well ;o)

It was a bit of a shock to find this in the front room the other week. On closer inspection I realised it was only action man ("Daddy Man" as Lucas calls him) helping Steve out with his study.

It seemed to work well as he passed both exams with flying colours! YAY! We're so proud of you!
Only a few gazillion to go.. :o'

Here's Lucas "washing up" after Daddy who was making a delicious mess of home made lemonade from the tree bounty we'd picked, shaken and whacked off earlier that day.

Paramedic Perryman

Here's Daddy sporting the new Ambulance Service issue training jumpsuit, winter woolly and reflective jacket.

Checking Lucas' heart rate with the specialist equipment.

Baker's boy

This is that lovely Daddy wake up call I mentioned in the last post.
Here's the boy making chapatis for dinner. In one pic he's caught saying "rolly rolly" as he rolly rollys.

We made these little pear and yoghurt cupcakes yesterday. We took the mini ones to nursery for all to enjoy. Since they all eat each others food anyway I thought I'd send some food purpose made for sharing ;o)
Little Maya announced that she didn't have to eat anything today. Then saw the cupcakes and said that she's allowed to eat now. With only one return I think they were well received.

At long last

We can finally upload pics! So here's a brief rundown of the past few weeks.

We shook, picked and whacked about 200+ lemons off the tree, made stack of lemonade, froze alot and I'm still trying to get around to the arduous task of zesting - the best part of the fruit!

Here's Lucas' new toy. Reduced in the sales, I couldn't resist. It has so many buttons and bits, he loves it! It's not coming to the park with us though as he's rather attached to it.

Our lovely neighbour (can never remember if he's Czech or Croatian) gave us a pine wardrobe the other day that fits beautifully in Lucas' room. The first of a few changes. Next will be the removal of the table and addition of the bed.
Lucas thought the point was to bang on the wood. He was very helpful and did a great job.

Sunday arvo tent exploration. After the "tent" being flopped on for the hundredth time, Daddy collapsed and Lucas had to go on an expedition to save him. It took alot of tickles and in the end a fluff to the head (from LUCAS!!!) to wake him up.

Popcorn popping and the frangipani tree.. la la!

These last couple of weeks have been interesting in the world of Lucas.

His tree climbing career has started, singing career (uses a mini torch as a microphone whilst "singing" and swaying to the music), together with training for popcorn eating competitions (beating the vac to it).
He's also been quite attached to his little Lucas sized chair. Using it to reach greater heights (namely the crystal on the mantle piece and opening doors with lever handles). He's quite impressed with himself :o)

Today he fell asleep in my arms (after having a tantrum that it wasn't Daddy at the front door but a sales man), exhausted with all the Grandparent excitement he'd had.

Little Twinkle Perryman is doing well. I heard the heartbeat for the first time today so it's definately real! :o)

Thanks for the underpants and socks Farmor and Gramps! Lucas knows exactly what to do with them.

Little Chef

We made some chapatis this week (we were out of bread). Lucas had so much fun rolling them out but refused to eat the ones he made and only ate the ones I'd made especially for Mummy and Daddy. They were just bigger :o)

Yesterday he measured all the flour and other ingredients to make shortbread. He loved patting it down in the tin and helped made the marks on the top to cut later. Didn't want to eat them either! No pics.. too messy and only one pair of hands then.
