Aug/Sept.. lovely boys

The loveliest boy at the moment is Steve.
On the odd occasion when we get pizza, Steve usually puts some funny name like MacGuyver or Sanga or I have to guess which one is ours.
...........Pizza is so romantic!  Ahhhhh!

(yes, I know! My side of the family....)

Riley

A camera with all the bells and whistles is just one of those things I get itchy for, but know it's a long long long way down on a list of wants (after the long list of needs). It's frustrating when I can't quite capture what I can see.

But here's something I can't get wrong.. my little Riley. He's such a funny sausage. So calm, quiet and peaceful (I know! the two boys are so different but like cheese and grapes - go so well together.)

We sat watching a construction site. The crane moving stuff about, one man falling over, the cement truck.. So exciting to a 3 year old who loves nothing more than trucks and emergency vehicles.

He's a big boy now, but still with puppy fat, soft curves, baby skin and still so delicious to cuddle.

Back to Beautiful x

We thought giving Lucas an old phone to play Pac Man on was a harmless thing.
He got addicted so fast it was shocking!
He didn't listen or obey, refused to follow basic routines (sit at the table, get dressed etc) and was a tantrum monster. So I took it apart and hid the pieces in three different places. (He's a master at finding things!)

This is him the very next day. Caring, thoughtful, loving and sweet. He made me go back to bed and brought his home made Easter card and the best impromptu breakfast a five year old could conjure up in a few seconds. (Easter Sunday)

Then he sent Riley to bed (Dad's side) and brought him an Easter breakfast treat too.

My beautiful 3 year old Riley. He reminds me everyday that he's growing, and everyday I stare at his rounded body, softy baby like features and wish it would all last longer.

There was this woman (I say, "WOMAN" with a 'Grrr!!') at the health food shop the other day who asked me if my kids were "refund age". Apparently they are and my expression of shock gave me away - I didn't agree. I love these ages, lots of cuddles and giggles. "That's a very Anglo Saxon way of bringing up children" she said. Then lectured me on how her french mother and lebanese father got it right. Absolute discipline, children are nothing.. beneath nothing and should always, without exception do as we tell them (not as we do). What's this got to do with my choice of herbal shampoo?!

WHAT A STINKING RACIST! Her faux friendly aggression left a bad taste in my mouth.
... leaves me wondering if I should complain to the manager.
I know the nice sides, but showing those negative generalist traits of both french and lebanese isn't doing either culture any favours.. I won't be going back to that shop anytime soon!

Here's Roo in the park helping his friend be sun safe. What beauty! I'm not blind do it, I get grumpy and impatient yes, but I want to soak in their childhood and live with a childish giggle in my gut. Like plopping in a pool full of orange jelly and wiggling around. :o) Don't you agree?!

Isn't he delicious!

Easter Hats, Cross Country... and Cross Riley

Lucas' teacher is the BEST-est! All of the teachers dressed like this today (complete with pom pom tails and white gloves). Such a lovely, nurturing and fun place to be!

Lucas' year 6 buddy helped him make this amazing creation. Then after the whole school had done their laps infront of the parents they let the little ones join in. The Principal of the school lent Riley the bunny ears.

He felt so special being led by his big brother and big buddy!

7th in the cross country last week... So proud of you honey!
Pretty good for not twigging the starting whistle had gone off and wearing regular school shoes.
Sorry Lucas! All the other kids were in their joggers.. you beat most of them anyway!

Riley and his many faces.. love you little radish!

Dinosaur eggs for dinner..
.... what a treat!

From little things...

The egg hatched.. Then we put it in the garden as we found a bigger one at a friend's house (that looked like grotty bird poo, then changed colour to green - so exciting)
Nice and fat now, he's starting to get ready for his cocoon. Ends stuck on and feet lifted off.

Family night. A bit too much chocolate ice cream for Riley :o)
 Mr. Potato Riley

Officer Perryman writing me a parking ticket

 Family time:

The boys made special dark chocolate treats for family time the other week. Marshmallows, dark chocolate, nuts and cornflakes are all nice on their own, but together it's super yum!
Individually we are great, but we're fantastic together!

Last week we went fishing together. Then had a massive sand digging and burying play. We buried the boys in sand and threw a few extra kids in that were hanging about. (parental permission given :o)
