sMASHing good fun

There is so much anticipation when digging up a potato crop - will there be HEAPS and HEAPS? Will they all be tiny or rotten and a complete disappointment?

Box 1, spuds in situ.

I had put three small seed potatoes in each styrofoam box and ended up getting about 4 1/2 kilos in total.
To be totally honest, I'm not sure if that's a good crop or not. Since we ended up with 3 1/2 kilos more that we started with I suppose we can count that as a success story.

I can't wait to dig up the big potato plot in the garden!! I think I'll leave them slightly longer (until the tops have completely died off) then hopefully they'll be bigger.

JESSIE, they've completely filled that potato bag you sent and then some! What good timing :o)

Zink, Ink or Stink - all are hard to get off the carpet

So Lucas wonders off and is quite for longer than normal.
I said to Suzi "Have you seen Lucas, he is very quite?"
After a brief search I found him in the dinning room with a tube of zinc bloc.
Advice to you all : CARPET DOES NOT LIKE ZINC!

Qui-chee

Lucas has had lots of fun looking at the Christmas trees (qui-chee) in the shopping centre and has been wishing everyone we meet a merry qui-chee.

These are the Christmas stockings I made for us. They're not finished but they worked well enough for this year. I need to get our names embroidered (or something) at the top and sew the bells on.
I ran out of material for Riley's one, but he didn't seem too bothered. He'll have a gingerbread man on his.
Lucas has the reindeer, I have the Christmas tree and Steve has the Pudding.

One of the toys I'd bought Lucas was a tool kit. Since Christmas day all we've heard is the continuous buzzing of his little toy drill. Of course he insists on using it with the goggles on ("geegogeego").

Christmas Day on the Job

Duncan at North Head overlooking Sydney

After a busy night shift on the way home.

Riley's first Christmas

Pucker up! Mmmmwwwaaaa (either that or trying to whistle without his two front teeth).

This is our sparsely decorated Christmas tree. This is as decorative as it got before Lucas pulled handfuls of beads off and decorated himself (with squeals of glee as his 'bling'). It was fun to see him enjoying it all. You can just about see the little knitted decorations that mum donated to our "Christmas with a toddler" cause. They've lasted years and I love them as they're totally unbreakable.
Riley wasn't all that into it and was very pleased to let us get on with it.
